On an eventual day, the SCRSDO organization held two sessions on awareness and psychological support for women, young girls, and children at their headquarters in Kampala on Sunday, January 7th, 2024 at 2:00 pm as part of their health edification project aimed at raising awareness about public health and psychological support in the community.
Dr. Hawa Haroun, a women’s and childbirth specialist, gave an interesting workshop on maternal and child health, discussing the necessary services for the health of both mother and child, including proper healthcare for pregnant women, regular check-ups and follow-up during pregnancy and after childbirth or miscarriage.
She also advised women to take all required vaccinations for their children according to the host country’s system. Moreover, she emphasized the importance of family planning in refugee situations and explained the causes of cervical cancer and breast cancer, as well as the importance of breastfeeding.
During the same period, Dr. Noha Youssef and Mr. Youssef Namirine provided a friendly space for some refugee children in Kampala to help them with their psychological and social adaptation, connect them with their families, and integrate them into society.
The organization hopes to continue these health education and psychological support initiatives to improve the health of the community and provide advice and guidance.
