The SCRSDO organization organized a seminar on legal edification for Sudanese refugees in Uganda at the organization’s hall in Kawempe area on Saturday, November 4th. The seminar was attended by a number of Sudanese refugees. It covered topics such as refugee rights, duties, and freedoms, which were discussed by lawyer BATAMBULE ROGERS. The seminar also addressed women’s rights in Uganda, which were discussed by lawyer NSIMENTA RUTH. The lawyer and the executive director of the SCRSDO organization spoke more comprehensively about these topics, in addition to that, he spoke about the organization’s goals, which include raising awareness about laws, health, and education.
Director of SCRSDO Saad Al-Din Abdel Majid emphasized the importance of refugees knowing and respecting the laws. He also stressed the organization’s support for refugees in terms of education and legal edification. He highlighted the necessity of legalizing refugees’ status by obtaining asylum and ID card to enjoy their rights, as well as the importance of respecting Ugandan laws.
