A communal Iftar to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan

A major event, a wonderful initiative, and a remarkable gesture—for the first time in the Manyangwa Nabweu area, SCRSDO organized a communal Iftar to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. This gathering was part of the series of communal Iftars held by the organization’s branches at their respective locations, taking place on the evening of Saturday, March 22, 2025.

The Iftar was attended by a large number of Sudanese and Ugandan individuals and families, along with representatives from the local government. The event was opened by Ms. Eshtiaq Hashim, a member of the organization’s executive office in the region, who warmly welcomed the attendees.

Following that, Mr. Saadeldin Abdel-Majid Elias, the organization’s executive director, spoke about SCRSDO’s role in providing essential knowledge and support to the community and refugees, particularly in areas like education, awareness of national and refugee laws, understanding rights and responsibilities comprehensively, and vocational training, especially for women and youth.

Finally, Ms. Ishraqa emphasized the importance of individual and community responsibility, highlighting how Ramadan fosters values of cooperation and social solidarity among families. A local government representative encouraged collaboration and harmony with the host community to ensure refugees feel secure. He also expressed his pleasure in attending the Iftar, affirming the government’s support for the organization in facilitating necessary and challenging procedures.
